Description

AminoAcidQA is an App containing about one hundred revision questions and answers on amino acid metabolism. It is hoped that it will help University students revise amino acid metabolism at home or on the go. It is not an exhaustive treatment of amino acid metabolism. However, it is hoped that it will enable you to test your knowledge of key facts in amino acid metabolism.

Topics include:-
Amino acids
Enzymes involved in protein digestion
Enzymes involved in amino acid formation and degradation
Examples of medical conditions resulting from deficiencies of enzymes involved in amino acid metabolism
Essential and non-essential amino acids
The urea cycle
Glucogenic and ketogenic amino acids
Amino acids used to make biomolecules other than proteins


In Apple Version 2.0
the App has been updated and converted into a tabbed version with 4 different windows. The topics in the windows are Amino acid structure, amino acid synthesis, protein digestion and amino acid catabolism. About 20 new questions have been added so it contains about one hundred questions and answers. There are new questions on zymogens, amino acid structure, amino acid synthesis and transport,urea cycle regulation, creatinine, acetylcholine, DOPA and histamine.

Minor bug fixes ensuring compatibility with multiple devices.

Minor update.

In iPhone version 2.3
The App has been updated and 6 new questions added.








Instructions for use

In the Apple version AminoAcidQA simply select the topic you want from the tab at the bottom of the page(Structure, Synthesis, Catabolism or Digestion)

Press the "Show Answer" button to get the answer to the current question.

When you press the "New Question" button again a new question will appear above the the "New Question" button.
"Answer" will appear above the "Show Answer button
Press the "Show Answer" button to get the answer to the current question.

Please note you cannot go backwards but all questions will be repeated as each cycle of questions is completed.
